This board is for all of the above, and for all of the motivations. Trans-women like myself are actually a minority here.

OK, imagine that you wake up tomorrow morning and find that you have a beautiful pair of C-cup breasts on your chests. But you still feel inside that you are a man and wish to remain a man. Then you are told that these breasts will never go away and will remain on your body for the rest of your life.

Would you seek surgery to have these breasts removed? Would you even be willing to spend $10,000 to remove them so you could once again have the flat manly chest that you used to have?

I've spent more than that just to have my beard removed. By this time next year, I may have no contact with my own mother or anyone else related to me by blood, because I would give them up just so I can live in a body that conforms to my sense of self. This is because I am a woman who was born into a male body, so facial hairs, a penis, testicles, and the male hormones they produce just don't fit my self image. Removing my testicles cost only a fraction of that, but I too would pay $10,000 to remove my penis for the same reason you would remove breasts if they were to magically appear on your chest while you sleep tonight.

If you were born with a female body, but the exact same mind and exact same way of thinking that you have now, I think you would want to remove your ovaries so you don't have female hormones in your body. Because like the rest of us, you have a certain sense of self. A few people are unfortunately born with something that differs from our inner sense of self.

nah, i think you all cleared it up pretty well. its not hard to see that different people have different motivations.

but heres a few more questions:

first for Riverwind, this may be a dumb question but are those your testicles youre holding in that pic?

second, ive heard about chemical castration for pedophiles, now this isnt actual removal of anything its just pills they are given that reduce their sex drive correct? seems like this would be a more logical way to go rather than putting yourself through surgery to reduce your sex drive. also, how common is this? why dont they use it for rapists? it seems to me that it would be better to physically castrate rapists and pedophiles so they wouldnt become repeat offenders. with the chemical thing it seems like they could go off it for awhile and regain the old tendencies.

third, kind of unrelated but i know from history that slaves were commonly eunuchs. how did they castrate them hundreds or thousands of years ago with no anesthetic or clean surgical conditions? how did the slaves not die of infection afterwards?

But they did die in great numbers, especially if it was both testicles and penis that were removed. The death rate was lower if only testicles were removed. But they were, after all, slaves, or maybe war prisoners, and life was nasty, brutish, and short in those days anyways.

I could live with that. I would definately not spend $10,000 to have them removed.

would give me even more reason to seek castration and a pemectomy.

Yes that is me holding my balls in a jar about an hour after surgery. they now sit on the shelf on my computer desk so I can look and enjoy them in there new home.

Second part of your question, there was a thread on here at one time about castration of sex offenders, I understand that sometimes it is court ordered (per Dr Kimmel) and I think some states require it under some conditions. but I think we all agreed that it would not help much. its to easy to get HRT.

third part I think was answered.

Castration is not for everybody but for those of us that want it nothing else will take its place.

One note I might add, here, whatever the reasons, I for one am definitely happy with the results. My surgery was done one year ago this month, and the changes have been great, for the most part. Just FYI, my reason was mainly to control an extremely overactive libido that for the most part controlled my every conscious moment. The effect has been to give me back control of my life. There's so much more to life to enjoy now that all the frustration is cleared away, and I do not regret having made this change. Hope this helps in some small way, perhaps through the different views of the great folks here you can get get an idea of what life is like from the eunuch's perspective. It's not for everybody, but it's been great for me and my wife.
