It sounds like she's dealing with hepatorenal syndrome. Of course, I'd have to know more specifics of her case to give an informed opinion of a nurse (not a doctor).

She has an appointment with a liver specialist this Thursday

She saw the specialist who said he had to do tests. The doctor said it was either (1) Fatty Liver Disease (2) or Liver Cancer.

She was NOT given any more pain pills.

If they cannot do a full liver transplant, have you looked into a live donor transplant? A compatible and willing donor would give part of their liver to her.

All of her tests came back negative so no liver cancer Bad thing is she is still in pain and doctors don't know the cause.
