Hey fhunter,
Do you know if -
Anyone made a hot rod with a Lada?
And is there any sort of, "I Love My Lada" club?
Moi
Search on drive2.ru, there is everything there
PS. I suggest taking UAZ-452 (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UAZ-452) for a mod. I think a longest produced car (since 1965, without major changes

)
PPS. One has to have a balls of steel to drive something like older Lada or Moskvitch at higher than 120-140km/h, they switch category from car into aircraft.

C'mon, give me a link to a Lada made into a hot rod.
The cars with big tail fins, such as a 1959 Chevy use to take flight at high speeds too.
Proved a bad choice for police and the highway patrol.

A mile is 1760 yards. that is 1.609 Kilometer.
100 yards is the shortest track US length and that is 91 meters
100 meters is 109 yards.
250 meters (1/4 kilometer) is 273 yards.
A quarter mile is 440 yards or roughly 400 meters. This is the standard for acceleration (from 0 to "X"-mph in so many seconds over a quarter mile track). We call that a drag race.
A half mile or 880 yards is 805 meters
a half kilometer would be 500 meters or about 547 yards.
A 5000 meter race is 3.1 miles
A 10,000 meter race is 6.2 miles
100 km/hr is 62 miles per hour (mph)
150 Km/hr is 93.2 mph
200 km/hr is 124 mph
The Bugatti Veyron holds the land speed record for street-legal automobiles - 408.84 km/h or 254.04 mph
(The owner has to replace the tires after it hits that speed)
(Personally, I think that's insane to even try on regular highways)

Do the math Sandi.

.31 is one-half of .62. I meant half a kilometer. Typo.

Moi621 I have a 1963 Corvair 2 door convertible with 79,000 original miles and original paint. I enjoy driving it sometimes and it runs great!

Almost forgot the 440 V-8 that a lunatic friend of mine shoved down into a 1989 Dodge Dakota. That was, frankly, uncalled for! LOL

It was a sight, having the rear end shoot out and fly off down the road without the rest of the truck.

Ok, couldn't find the Lada you asked, but get this:

The base is: Moskvitch 2140 (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moskvitch_2140), I like them more than Lada, you know, more style

That Moskvitch 2140 is a box on wheels.
It has about as much style as a pack of kleenex (but you knew that, didn't you?)
(makes me giggle and smile)

It seems the Moskvitch 2140 is a reworked Fiat body. As unbelievable as it may be I saw a Pontiac Aztec on the road today. It looked to be in good condition too. --FLO--
