Stories are now stored on eunuchworld.org and there is no /alpha/ directory.
My question is this: What does a file on eunuch.org have to do with data stored on archive.org ?
If it goes looking for that /alpha/ directory, it's not going to find it.
So we'd be talking about downloading the robots.txt file from the eunuch.org directory, removing that line, and then replacing robots.txt on eunuch.org's server with the edited file?
Admittedly, I haven't been paying too much attention to this discussion, because as the old saying goes, "It's Greek to me."

Paolo Archive.org checks the most current robots.txt in order to show or not the previous versions. As long as you keep /Alpha/ in the file we will not able to access the old stories.
If it is removed we have all the stories backed up there. Nothing is lost.
I thought this was done on purpose, and was planning to offer money for removal, but I see another member already has offered this but his request was not answered properly.
If you remove /alpha from robots.txt we would be really glad.

Thank you, talula, who speaks the language of "I.T.".
I wanted to take a class on that at the local community college here. The teacher interviewed me (knows me). He told me to get a job flipping burgers instead...

Now that the requested edit is done, this is what the wayback machine now presents:
Page cannot be displayed due to robots.txt.
Any more ideas?

When I go
I am still seeing the Disallow: /Alpha/ line. Did the edit maybe not go through?

Well, for me it works.
You just have to edit the url
fir ex http:// web.archive.org/web/20090904073521/
http://www.eunuch.org/Alpha/B/ea_72703bei_geri.htm wount work but
http:// web.archive.org/web/20090904073521/
http://www.eunuch.org/alpha/b/ea_72703bei_geri.htm will work
PS I have downloaded all of it with offlinexplorer some time ago.

So, is anyone having any success with Archive.org now?

Talula, yes, I was apparently seeing it cached. Thank you! It seems to all be accessible now. If I start from an old main page like here:
it lets me click through all of the indexes and all of the old stories seem to come so far.
