We were going on a summer outing a couple of years ago. It was a last minute thing and I did not have a decent pair of shorts so I ran down to my local chain clothing retailer and bought a pair. I threw them on. The next day I had itchy ring around the thigh. Both thighs. Right where the bottom of the shorts were doubled back at the bottom. The rash went away after a day or two. I washed the shorts and never had another problem. I think clothes from China come with chemicals pre-installed. You just wear them and enjoy. No consumer effort required at all. Convenience clothing.

Maybe, if the grains of sand were the same size as grains of salt, but probably not if they're bigger, and I don't think smaller grains would work well, as they w

Maybe its a plot to make all men from the west impotent so they can take over the world. I know that in Pakistan health workers vaccinating children against polio have been shot dead because extremists think its a plot by western countries to make them impotent by injection. Nothing worse than a conspiracy theorist with a gun.

I worked 30 years as a chemical engineer dealing with coal-derived liquids and chemicals.
a) I spray nothing in my house -- no chemical anything. I have one cologne. I have scent-free fabric softeners, and my soaps are the blandest you can buy. Nothing that reeks of chemical smells or poisons or smell-killing stuff.
b) I chase down any bug that ventures in my house with a flyswatter. I make a game out of it.
c) I pull weeds out of the grass. It ain't hard.
No paraquat.
You know Dave...I know you'll agree with me but I'm going to say it anyway. Avoiding chemicals are not going to guarantee a long disease free life. You can still die from a heart attack, car crash, plane crash, drown, earthquake, deadly virus (which seems to hit counties lately), flu, murdered, accidental electrocution, falling from some place high (which happened to one of my favourite honorary MythBusters...HE never thought that morning he was about to die that day), and the list goes on.
Like someone once said: "Death smiles at us all". I made peace with death. It no longer has a sting.
