No, my urologist office actually has a surgical unit on the second floor so I never was in a hospital. We got there at 8:30 and left a little after 1PM, stopped by Chik-fil-A and got some sandwiches to go, came home, ate lunch and I've been watching TV while applying ice 30 on/30 off. I didn't check when I was in the recovery room since it was a little public but I did check at home and OMG they're really GONE.

Do you know if your surgery will be through the scrotum or inguinally through the abdomen? And under local or general anesthesia? Mine was local through the scrotum, and I healed easily. Good luck!!!

It was scrotal, midline incision under general. He did tell me that in consulting with GRS surgeon Dr. McGinn he went up into the abdomen and got as much cord as he could.

Thank you everyone for the good words and thoughts. Still very little pain. I would actually describe it more as uncomfortable rather than hurting.

I hope you're enjoying the same feelings. And you're having it done in a hospital by a real doctor. IMHO, the only way to go. Kudos to your doc for handling the paperwork right so insurance will pay for it. Keep us posted on your recovery. Don't push yourself. Take it easy, give your body time to heal.

Jared, thank you especially for answering some questions for me a while back. As far as taking it easy and giving it time to heal, my wife wouldn't even let me take my plate to the dishwasher tonight. She said I was on sick call for the time being. LOL

Congratulations. Hope it is all you hoped.

Every time I see someone become Fully Qualified, I remember my time a while back now.

Oddly, the best thing that happened after was to find myself without a prescription for T as planned, and no doc to write one.

The experience of diminishing T, a period of flashes and then a most pleasurable time of zero T. I was later persuaded by my wife to resume T, but I still remember that time as special.

Hope your journey is as fun!

Fifth day and I am absolutely amazed. There has been no pain, other than some minor twinges which were about a 2 on a 1-10 scale, on day two. None! My wife keeps reminding me to take it easy. I was going to carry the dirty clothes down to the laundry room for her but she pitched a fit. She won't even let me empty the dishwasher. And yes, I know I should take it easy for a couple of weeks.

OK let me ask a question for others who have been through this. I felt it a little on Thursday evening but Friday it was like someone had sucked every bit of energy out of me. Is that my T level crashing after three days? I'm not sure of the timing so I thought I would ask. Also, I barely woke up when it happened so I either dreamed or I actually did have a hot flash last night.

You'll know when you get a hot flash... trust me. You'll be consumed with an overwhelming desire to go stick your head in the freezer.

In your case, at 66, it could be that your body has well adjusted to lower testosterone. Men tend to lose testosterone as they age, starting around age 30.

You have put yourself into something that is a little different for each person.but you will probably be going through a roller coaster for a while as things change then it will kind of level out. Wait till you wake up in the night with the bed soaking wet from night sweats and the hot flashes for me started really mild then increased over time then lessened til they were rare but I would get them more when I would get extra tired. Nothing was a all at once change but a change over time. The hot flashes for me I would notice kind of a tingling or warming in my feet first then build through my body. Even on T if I get real tired I will start to flash some as there is no compensating by the body for the amount burnt up through exertion. I cac also tell when my T starts dropping by the returning of symptoms like hot flashes and brain fog!
