I think we underappreciate all the hard work anonymous does. Sometimes the author is inconsistent but look how many is posted.

Talula and I checked on the star rating system. It was instituted on August 27, 2011. That was the first day on which members could rate stories. It's something that we all need to do much more often to let authors know that we appreciate their work.

ANONYMOUS ......... 31

UNKNOWN ......... 37

Zoroaster ......... 32

Nathan ......... 29

Mandler ......... 16

Mark ......... 16

Atreyu69 (or 88) ......... 14

Zipper ......... 12

Byzwriter ......... 11

jockpussy ......... 9

Rob Cole ......... 8

martineasy ......... 7

Missing ......... 6

BangleBalls ......... 6

curious_guy ......... 6

darkboy ......... 6

Erik ......... 6

BullGator ......... 5

Chad Addison ......... 5

jearns85 ......... 5

Paolo ......... 5

I think it’s also interesting that 6 of the stories were originally posted in 1997 (the first year of the Archive) and 129 of them were posted before the end of 2000. Some of the very old stories are still very popular. Over half of the top rated stories (298) were posted before the end of 2005. Rating the stories only began with the transfer to the new system a couple of years ago, so it's not that the old stories have been accumulating votes for many years.

I never imagined that I'd make it to the top five of "named" writers. What can I say other than I'm humbled to be on the list. This gives me an incentive to put a greater efforts into my stories and to submit more often.
