In 1988 I underwent a penile implant operation for impotence brought on by diabetes. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. The core of the matter was a serious staph infection that took almost four years to defeat.
I had to have nine operations. Along the way, the infection has spread through the erectile tissue, so both corpora cavernosa and the erectile tissue therein had to be removed. Basically, that is the bulk of the internal tissue inside the cock.
The implant device was removed, as well as the corpora, and much of the damaged tissue had to be cut away. This was followed several months later with plastic surgery so the remaining redundant tissue were cut away, the remains (about an inch) of the shaft were tightened to the new narrow girth, and the glans (which had to come off for the operation) was reattached to the remaining shaft.
Virtually no nervous sensation remained, no ability for any form of erection, no ability to ejaculate, and only the ability to have an emission of sperm.
At first i was very upset and then sad, but over the years I've come to accept and then embrace my new self.
