Anyone who has posted about themselves here has already put that data out.
EA registration does not ask for a real name or anything like your driver's license number, though.

I know 2005 was a busy year. I know of 3 castrations and one penectomy then, and I think there may have been more.
I think the higher number now is an indication that more help is coming available legitimately, which is a good thing for this community. Most of those I've heard of this year have been performed by reputable surgeons.

That part of the reason. The other, IMO, was the result of Danielle's thread on alcohol injections in 2009, which influenced and resulted in a significant rise in the number of castrations in the years following.

Well, today's the day. All the pre-op tests were fine so there's nothing to stand in the way. I have to be at the hospital by noon and the guillotine drops at 2PM. The jitters are gone for the most part. My wife fixed me a nice steak dinner last night and said, "I want you to remember your last good meal before they cut your balls off". We had a good laugh.

My castration went well yesterday. Took a little over an hour. Woke up fast in recovery with minimal discomfort. I was told there were painkillers in the IV. Spent about 2 hours in recovery and another room where I got dressed, used a urinal and got post-op instructions. At home I had a bite to eat, took 2 painkiller pills and went to bed. Slept well, awoke about midnight to use the urinal bottle and took 1 more pain pill. In hindsight I should have taken 2. Awoke again about 5 to use the urinal and took 2 more pain pills. I slept much better than expected and as I write this I feel rested and alert.
After the surgery I felt very little discomfort in the scrotal area. I had more in my pelvis last night, the kind of ache we feel if we were kicked in the balls. I think it was caused from cutting the cords. I can fell the spot where the cut was made and Im surprised at how high it is. This morning it feels more like sore muscles, closer to the skin surface. I also have more bleeding than I expected although the doc said to expect it. They didnt put me in a jockstrap, instead they used a tight pair of stretchy cotton jockey shorts type thing stuffed with a wad of pre-cut gauze called a Bulkee II. They sent me home with extras of both. I need to change it now. Its got a lot of blood on it.
I should mention that I also opted for a scrotal reduction as part of the surgery. The doc explained the empty scrotum could get uncomfortable. I asked about leaving that for another surgery but decided to have it done now when he explained that Medicare will cover it if done with the orchiectomy but consider it elective if done separately at a later date and it wouldnt be covered.
I dont plan on doing much for at least the next couple days beyond napping, sitting in my recliner, catching up on some paperwork, using my laptop and watching TV.
All in all, Im very satisfied with everything that was done yesterday. Im still pinching myself as the exciting reality of being a eunuch sinks in. Sincere thanks to all on EA for sharing your knowledge and encouraging words.
Once again, a special thanks and a big hug to my eunuch mentor for all hes done. He always picks up the phone and has time for me.
Monkey50, Best wishes for a similar experience with your visit to Dr. Arnkoff tomorrow.

Congratulations!!! Yes, i also had that "kicked in the groin, but not as intense" feeling. Don't be afraid of using your pain meds for the first few days--that's what they're for! Rest up, use ice, and heal well!

I have been told that the scrotectomy causes significant pain and more bleeding than just the orchiectomy, so it sounds like you are really doing well. Interesting to find out now that the scrotectomy probably is not covered by Medicare as a separate procedure. At the time of my orchiectomy was so grateful to have it done it never occurred to me to ask and frankly the urologist was really not that crazy to do the procedure.
