Three-quarters of the audience comes in costume - at least half of them as a gender other than that they were assigned at birth. The show on the screen is mostly a distraction from the REAL show and sound of music in the audience.

Paolo, you do realize of course that the Van Trap singers did just that and escaped from Germany in WWII, it was based on a true story.

For me it would be a tie between "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Wicked".

I also liked the musical versions of "Shrek" and "Beauty and the Beast".

I saw "Hair" for the first time the other day. It left me feeling empty. I think that what it was supposed to do. (Remember the "wrong" ends up being flown off to the war. But then again which one of anyone was the wrong guy?)

I used to be able to get a good cry out of Grizabella In "Cats" at one time.

never saw les mis on stage, but agree a very powerful play/movie. the sound of music was good but not one of my favs.
