Nerve block as a diagnostic test or as a treatment.

Epidectomy I have read a lot about. If the nerves are cut at the same time it might work. However trauma to the region as well as to the blood vessels could cause more issues.

Dealt with the chronic testicular pain for years, eventually had them both out. TRT works well enough.

They are tough to find

Try a city with a large medical center nearby to where you live. I had no problem finding two.

I had multiple injections over several months to determine if a nerve block would either stop the pain or determine if the pain was coming from the testicle. Depending on what is injected and amounts, the nerve block can be used for diagnostic tool or a possible way to stop the pain. Generally the urologist used the nerve block to make sure that if an orchiectomy is done that it will stop the pain.

I have had injections of Bupivacaine & Kenalog for chronic pain as part of a diagnostic approach to dealing with my pain. It has not bee effective and is temporary. This is usually the first stage in pain alleviation.

I had these injections a few weeks ago.

I think that this is just medics trying to save the gonads from the inevitable, anything but removal of the crown jewels.....

It really is frustrating. I finally managed to get one and and the doctor looked at me like I was crazy when I asked when we were going to do the other one. I was like well that was the plan we talked about. I gave up waiting on him and am looking elsewhere. Injections and nerve blocks don't work, cord denervation didn't work. Just cut the thing out already!

I know the frustration you are dealing with, having to kind of jump through hoops to get done myself. I was offered a bi lateral Epidectomy to reduce the pain and draining the hydocelles. However the rats nest of varicourse veins would still be there so I still would have issues. The thing is with the Epidectomy he explained the nerves would still be there and they may have had to go in and strip out the nerves at a later date along with draining the hydrocelles on a regular basis and going in again the remove the tunica. I told my urologist that I was tired of being sliced and diced over the years and it would be better for me in the long run for my quality of life to do the Orchie. He agreed and told me if he had the same issues as I had he would get castrated himself. You need to press the quality of life end.

I had a bilateral epididymectomy. I caused the worse pain I had ever experienced. I would equate it to having your balls popped out of their sack, smashed with a brick and put back in again. They never recovered from it. They were ruined, beyond repair. Castration was the only way out of my misery from that point on.

I had the epididectomy and denervization done on one had one removed because it was dead and ended up in pain so bad that he removed the remaining one 2 months and 11 days later and now I have no pain finally. It took 31 years of pain until I finally found someone who took me seriously and fixed it.
