I think I know why we all answered the question about the gas wrong, Hydrogen is the most common element in the universe and its the first element in the Periodic Table.

A Nitrogenous Lesson

Hey gang, remember atmospheric nitrogen is about as inert as an inert gas, almost.

Yet it is vital to carbon based life. Our Amino Acids all need their Nitrogen.

How to get it? Wait for those special bacteria in the roots of legumes to get it for me is one way. :shakemitk

Use manure or guano for fertilizer :shakemitk

Or, some wise chemist 👏 figures out how to make nitrates, nitrites and nitrogen containing stuff bio things can utilize. A boon to the farmer.

God Bless Nitrogen fixation.

And remember, keep that nasty nitrogen out of your scuba tanks to avoid the bends.

Now all you 12's or less PM 🙅

me a 25 word essay on "Nitrogen, It Deserves More Respect". :D

This must be an easy quiz because I scored 13 correct out of 13 :).

Ditto. Better than 93% of those taking it or in the seven percentile. It is an easy test. Anyone who took even a survey class in high school should know all the answers with ease.

It is not about knowing, it is ALL about retention... Everybody should have been exposed to these science facts if they read any in the popular media... but not everybody remembers.

P.S. Hydrogen is odorless, Methane stinks...

They are both odourless. It is impurities, that give it odour (usually mercaptans).
