Blood vessels are not cut in a vasectomy. That would leave dead, rotting balls in the scrotum.

It's a completely different thing. Only the vas deferens is cut, so that the sperm can't get up and out.

I'm thinking they gave it a sensational title to promote exposure and get more hits on the news sites.

Do they cut open the tunica vaginalis too then, to get to the vas d.? I can't imagine it being possible to sew that delicate layer of fine muscle shut.. So, I get it might be more complicated than that.
