Is it your Uvula? Or did the back of your mouth/throat swell?
Once I had a virus infection which caused the back of my mouth and throat to swell a bit, and the tongue too. It caused a sensation similar to what you described.
Doctor thought it was Coxsackie Virus. Not sure if that was the correct diagnosis though, because other than swelling and a single very small canker sore in the back of my mouth, I had no other symptoms. It all cleared up after about a week and a half.
I know, "Coxsackie" sounds like some kind of a sexual joke. But that is its actual name. Google it...
