I'd bet not on methane, but on odorants. They are much more toxic. What I have found, is that they act similarly to hydrogen sulphide, and have similar toxic effects.

Sounds like you could be bleeding internally.

You didn't say which counts, red or white.

Either seems serious enough to track down a

board certified hematologist and have him give

you a definitive answer.

My red and white blood cells along with platelets are at alarm level low. My oncologist thinks I am either producing immature cells or my spleen is destroying them.

Interestingly one site said long term exposure actually increase the red and white cells too much.

Still no gas, hot water for showers and not my usual standard for personal hygiene.

I was talking about the problem with the representative from the gas company and he said natural gas itself will not kill but it displaces oxygen. Enough gas and you suffocate. Talking with neighbors we are all saying now we know why we did not have any energy. Every apartment in this 8 unit building has a leak. One of the best plumbing crews in town is coming to repair the leaks and I feel safer with them than the company's maintenance crew.

Since my red blood count is low and I am not moving as much oxygen around my body I think the reduced oxygen in the air was the cause of headaches and fatigue.

I returned from the store and other errands on this my day off to find the parking lot filled with trucks from a local plumbing company. As I walked in a plumber asked what apartment was mine. I told him and he shook my hand and congratulated me. He was congratulating me because I was still alive. They were checking the gas supply pipes in the utility closets and when they checked mine it just fell apart. He said if the pipe came apart with the gas on I would have been fine until the gas water heater fired up and then kaboom. I am hugging my dog a little tighter today.

Tell your doctor it's hydrocarbon poisoning.

All natural gas lines degrade over time. That's something to be away of in a neighborhood or building. If one part of the line is discovered to be bad then all lines need to be checked.

Suburbs with individual gas meters are notorious for one house getting a yard dug up because the natural gas line is leaking and then within months or a year, all the neighbors get the same thing done.

Now for the big question? Are you feeling better?

When I first saw this post I thought it would be about the Gulf drilling rig.

I would say yes but we have had a real drop in temperature and lower humidity. My dog and I walked three hours tonight and enjoyed the time. He did not fight coming in this evening. I will say no morning headaches which is a plus. Oh no more stomach pain which I associated with either prescriptions or supplements. It is nice not to have stomach pain.

I am hoping to have more energy and my dog seems to be better. I am going to follow Dave's advice and call my doctor.

If this was about the Gulf drilling rig I would not have started a thread in General Health, Physical and Mental but in Deep Dark Cellar or Politics.
