the only issue is whether you knew if it was stolen at the time. if so, you could be charged with failing to report a crime. knowingly posting links to stolen content is merely a moral and/or ethical issue. just an asshole move, not a criminal one.
That's what is called sophistry, and a few other things I won't mention.
Paolo put it better than I did:

sharing it after someone stole it is
wrong... (my paraphrase)

Unluckily many of the sites are not located where copyright laws are enforced vigorously. IE a waste of time also as allot of these web site owners do not have any morals but to make allot of money.

Raises hand. Yes, it was stolen from me. No, it's not me in the video.
Here is the background:
Video offered to me by the original owner who clearly stated to me it was for the use of my website only. At some point some Russian asshole downloaded it, changed the audio, and then redistributed it to the site that was linked to here (and has now been removed from this thread). The theft happened about 2 1/2 years or so ago. I've been battling it ever since.
Amusingly, nobody ever steals the less extreme content from my website. So far, two of the extreme videos people uploaded to my site have been stolen from behind the password wall and redistributed. Usually it's on sites such as the one seen here, other times it's on sites where people upload "strange" content where people look at us all as freaks.
The reason I ranted as I did above is because theft is theft. It doesn't matter how anyone rationalizes it.
If people want to know why more of this content isn't available it's for a couple of reasons:
1. Theft like this
2. People who have had these modifications not wanting to be objectified by wankers.
It's mostly #1. I know for a fact a LOT more of this type of stuff exists but it will NEVER be posted anywhere because of this issue. People can't respect the video, they don't get to see it. Very simple.
I don't mind when people save a copy to their computer and keep it for their own private use. I actually encourage that, it cuts down on bandwidth usage. I *DO* mind when people download it then redistribute. Unfortunately it's difficult to enforce copyright on stuff like this simply because of the subject matter involved.
Sadly, with this subject "look what I found" is 9 times out of 10 synonymous with "look what I stole".

Yes, about 100 times. It's no less stolen now than it was any other time it was posted.
You not doubt saw me posting that in the forum where you likely found it. I've only been screaming about it for the past 2 years since it was stolen from me and the original owner.
Of course, I've also noticed in that same two years that people don't really give a F*ck and post to it constantly anyhow. I've even had a few tell me copyright doesn't apply on the Internet. *ugh*
To the mods: Is there not a way to prevent this video link from showing up on EA?

No, I didn't see it in a forum, I found a link to it in a search engine.
There is no information on the site it is posted on as to the source.

Must be some obscure search engine, I've never found it linked to in Yahoo, Google, MSN, or video searches.
I suppose it's possible, but I find it highly unlikely unless it is offered as a link way far into the search results.
Often these sort of thefts have me wondering if I should just take the entire site down, but I don't do that as I have a sense of integrity and a feeling of obligation to those who subscribed to my site to keep it up.
I'm not accusing you of an actual crime, the people who put it onto the site you saw it on are the thieves. Though if you saw the link somewhere and I posted a theft notice, then you linked to it again, I'd consider you part of the theft at that point since you had been warned the video was stolen.

As much as we don't like to use it, VB does have a censorship panel.
The site of this particular link was put in, so if you type the name and hit POST, nothing will show up.
I also added a few of the other sites out there that I don't want posted here, such as the x:rodent site and a few others.
