Seriously, they call this a blizzard?

6"?

Where were you in 1977-78?

I don't even need 4wd to get out of the driveway.

I can still see bits of grass sticking up out of the snow.

Oh well. It's still good. I'm sure the kid is happy and his parents are insane and exhausted by now.

Aw paolo cheer up, its going to get cold and snow and the wind will blow, after all some of you guys are in northern Wisconsin. If your lucky the sun wont be out till March, ha ha. I never did get cabin fever when I was up there, one fun thing was driving out on Green Bay and going ice fishing.

As far as the 77-78 snow storm, that was a real blizzard. I was in Chicago, it snowed a lot, like almost 36 inches, school was closed almost 2 weeks. Everything stopped, cars abandoned on the expressways, what did I care I was having fun out of school and playing in the snow.

I miss Johnsonville Brats and Cornish Pasties.

Them Federals at the Federal Weather Bureau lied to me too.

This whole series of storms over the last two weeks have barely delivered a total of 1".

It has been mostly an Oregon Mist , to drizzle, to light rain.

Remember who runs the weather service.

Professional liars.

Privatize the weather service. Contract with the one who delivers the best weather. Or forecast.

Truly, I believe the Weather Service, suck as it is, has become too quick to declare "emergencies".

Their behavior just desensitizes us to a real weather emergency forecast.

Showtime, Oliver Stone, "Untold History of America". The lies, all the lies. What is a Federal to do?

A lot of places are like this but especially in Colorado, Denver will often get hammered with all kinds of weather whereas other parts of the state get nothing or else vice versa we'll be hammered with Denver getting off scott free. I have talked with people over the phone before with them telling me that they've heard about our major snowstorm. But with no snow on the ground where I'm at, I tell them about it to which they reply that they were seeing how bad it was over here and how deep the snow was. Once after a storm hammered Denver and missed us, a few days later we got plastered, instead, somebody I was talking too was convinced that we were still digging out a week later. But the weather where I was at had been great until then. There was one day when I was snowed out of doing stuff outside so I went inside turned on the television which had the weather channel then. It posted our weather as clear but the reason I was inside was because it was anything BUT clear. Oh well.

They're probably quick to issue emergency alerts because they're afraid of getting sued.

The Weather Bureau can not be sued for being wrong, as I understand it they are under lots and lots of pressure from the public whenever someone gets wetter than they expected or gets stuck shoveling out from under a snowstorm. --FLO--

Well, as I recall from recent news, they can be sent to jail in Italy.

6"? some would call that a "gift"... ;) ...others, wishful thinking.

In 1977 on the 25th of January I worked all night outside in -25 degrees... Cold? NO, not when you are dressed right, that is, just as long as your feet do not sweat.

1978... There was some pretty DEEP snows in the early 80's, too.

But you are right. This just SUCKED...
