i purchased an elastrator for 20 bucks off of ebay. I am going to try it on one testicle only because I am too afraid to do both because the small cheerio looking rubber ring is so small.

I plan on playing with this thing not going through some crazy castration of leaving it on for 24 hours.

Does anyone know how to snap the cheerio sized elastrator rubber band off when I decide to remove it?

You have to cut them off. It can be hard to get to them after they have been on a while. I used a diagonal side cutter used for cutting small wire to cut them off. Make sure you have something that will work before using them.

Some people have reported using nail clippers to get the rings off.

Others have said side cutters.

Some put a wire underneath so they can pull the ring out from the scrotum.

Those blunt headed baby nail scissors have been used.

If the scrotum swells and covers the ring, Or if the ring digs into the skin, they are hard to get off.

Put one ring on and then try to get it off immediately as a learning exercise...

You don't want to wait until the pain starts and then try to get the ring off not knowing how to do it.

Don't encourage it, please.

If you insist on trying it, cat claw scissors (the ones used to trim cat claws) work well for cutting the little bands. --FLO--

and if you can't get it cut off there is really no problem after the gangrene sets in they will fall off all by themselves.

It never ceases to amaze me on just how stupid someone can be but go ahead you most likely will be just fine if not we will read about you in the news paper and see you on the 6pm news.

Guys, I think you're being a bit harsh. Most guys into CBT do banding of some sort. This guy specifically says he's just doing play, not trying to castrate and wants to know how to do it "safely". There is no harm, and it is not encouragement, to tell him to get pet-style nail clippers (I like ones used for parrots) as the best way to cut them off. Sure, CBT isn't technically safe or damage-free by any means, but giving safety advice is better than letting they guy go through all the same learning the rest of us did -- heck there were times when I've had to go to hardware stores while I had a band on because I hadn't the right equipment on hand. And like someone above mentions, you don't want to be figuring it out at that frantic moment when the pain is too much and you really want it off. I've gotten pretty significant cuts from using the wrong tools to remove bands.

Are you ready to spend weeks ,maybe months in a mental health facility? Lose your job, because you confined to that facility. All because the doctors will know you did this to yourself.

Then all of the medical problems that will arise. Infection,pain beyond belief.

Thats my fear, the aftermath.
