Basically, any major news outlet should have a policy that self-injury is like a sex crime and the "victim"'s name shouldn't be published. In a police report he made, he first said someone else shot him. That and the resulting finding that he shot himself make this a part of public records. I suppose it was the police not the hospital that gave out the information.
