It sounds as if your doctor is not very knowledgeable. Your wife should know what you are doing. Ethical doctors, knowing you are married, insist on meetings with both of you at the same time. You should also have had meetings with a psychiatrist or psychologist PhD and cleared you before ever prescribing hormones for you. Ethical doctors and professionals follow the WPATH ethics. WPATH is a world wide organization and they are there to help you. You are taking chances with your life and future if you make it there. You should have checked out your doctors before making appointments. Or, you are self medicating which is not very smart to do especially when there are doctors who gladly help this community. Governments need to push legislation to penalize rather than approve of haters hurting and killing people different than the so-called loving church people!
