Plus the hero of River God by Wilbur Smith. But he's a rather unusual person. I'm not sure whether I like that one or not.

Taita in "River God" is too flamboyant and talented to believe, even for a novel character.

I'm about halfway through. I don't think anyone would have the time to be so good at so many things. And maybe he's just saying he can do all those things because he's lost something he was enjoying using.
