I am new to all this so dont know how to Private message. It has now been 2 days since surgery and I finally took off the gauze and bandages. I am not in alot of pain but I do have a slight ache in my stomach (not nausea). Looks like the doctor did a good job. The scrotum although it is empty doesn't exactly look empty but may be from bruising and etc. Did you go back to your urologist for HRT? also what is the best form of HRT would you say? to be perfectly honest i think the only reason I would need it is if for some reason after i heal up i became unable to perform with my spouse sexually. otherwise I am starting to really enjoy feeling my emotions that i didn't feel for so many years and I have sensitive areas now just 2 days later like my nipples and etc. I noticed there is a cream called Testin also some pills and even shots. Just not sure the best way to go. My doctor told me before the surgery if I didn't want to hassle with HRT then I could always just use viagra or cialis. Do you have any feedback on that?

Congratulations on a successful surgery. Your recovery will be amazingly quick. To answer your questions about HRT, I had already started prior to surgery, and found that afterward, I could actually reduce the dose a bit. The change in emotions seems to not be affected by average doses of HRT. You will likely find that you need HRT to want to be physical with your partner. The sexual desire is driven by testosterone. I recommend using Androgel, its easily applied , and a very reliable source of T. Keep us posted on your recovery.

I understand that there is a minimum number of posts required by a new member before the Private Message vBulletin feature becomes active, perhaps a count of 10 posts. If the Private Message feature is not working, I believe a few more posts (that show up as increasing your number of posts) will allow Private Messaging.
As for HRT, I suggest working with your urologist or other capable physician; the issues of HRT are not always simple or obvious in advance.
For myself, I got my orchiectomy in 1986 as part of a sequence of minor and major surgeries as part of my intention to avoid dying from cancer as had my dad and other relatives, as I have a very strong genetic predisposition for cancer (the genetic condition is familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), and the average age of death from FAP is given in the medical literature I have been able to find as 42 years; the surgeries I have had seem to have prevented cancer so far, and I am a few months beyond 72 years of age.
FAP is a rare genetic condition, perhaps one in twenty-thousand people. There are quite a few rare genetic conditions, however, and not all of them have been catalogued yet.
Perhaps, in some ultimate sense, each and every individual person has a rare genetic condition, the person's plausibly unique genome.
Years ago, it came into my mind that, for me to be alive, I would have to do what was necessary for me to be alive. Why? Simply because, if I do not do what is necessary for my being alive, I surely will not be alive...
For now, I am glad to be alive. I plan to keep it that way as long as my body allows, with such medical care as is required.

Regarding HRT, there are many options. Unfortunately they can be a bit expensive, but presumably if you've been surgically castrated you could get it under insurance. I use Androforte 5% rather than Testim or Androgel, as a transdermal cream. It is applied to the scrotum skin and is purported to therefore absorb much more effectively than other andro creams. I order mine from Australia and delivery is quite prompt to US. I haven't had any customs problems.

Androgel is better than Testim the problem with this one is that your cloths will stick to your skin, it won't happen with Androgel. There are patches I've never tried them but I've heard that a man can perform about 3 hours after application and it will last 24 hours then nothing so for libido control it might be a good choice. I now use Nebido, made in Germany, much cheeper than Androgel, one shot last 3 months. I'm not a young man any more but this stuff gets me hard without problems, it's better than Androgel.

What does this androforte cost? I might be interested in that rather than the weekly shots.

Private Messaging is restricted to those who have posted 5 or more times. It is largely a measure to protect younger members from being preyed upon by more predatory members. It gives people some time to see what things are about first, hopefully ask some questions, and be warned about predators, which we often do anyway.

So I guess I just go back to my urologist then to get the Hormone replacement Rx that I need? Everything seems to be healing up okay. I was not in as much pain today being end of day 2 and I removed the gauze also so that I could finally shower again regular and i replaced the gauze and I noticed I am still bleeding just a little but not much really. The scrotum itself is not in pain it is more of an ache in my groin area kinda located right above the penis on both sides. I am guessing that is where the cords are cut at inside me. Other than that I have been feeling like I need to have a bowel movement but unable to so hopefully that will be over with soon. It has now been almost 3 days and I still get a random erection here and there and when looking at my wife it seems as if I am even more attracted to her now. She said I seemed a little different today in the sense that I have the "dont give a fk" attitude and just go with the flow, not sure if that is a direct effect from the procedure that has already taken place or not but still have a lot to learn i assume also. I am still using bags of frozen peas between my crotch and that is helping also. Taking the antibiotics but I think I will try to trim down the pain killers tomorrow to only 1 if not none. I have been looking at Androgel and Testin so far and not sure which is going to be best for me. I am not into needles at all so a shot is probably not my first choice but I do want to keep that desire so that my relationship maintains a healthy state. I guess I can schedule an appointment as soon as possible to get started on Testosterone replacement so that I do not get any up and down side effects.
