Here is another additive to your non itch recipe... Laundry detergents can sometimes add to unpleasantness in sensitive skin. Next time you get laundry detergent go for one that says either "free and clear" or "allergen free"... I learned this when being a massage therapist and had two or three clients who had slight reactions to my freshly cleaned sheets.

Also since you also are being diet aware i might recommend that you check out a documentary movie called "fat sick and nearly dead" about a guy who was having a lot of problems revolving around him being... Well you could guess. If u have netflix streaming i know it is available through that service.

Good luck!

When I managed service departments in the local hospital we had several patients who would have reactions to the soaps residue in sheets. We would run several sets of sheets through our normal process to kill germs and then we would put them through another complete wash cycle without any detergent.

As a last resort, if you haven't yet isolated the source of your itch, try Sarna (original formula). I learned about this from a cousin with an auto-immune disease that caused him to itch all over. It's the best topical itch reliever. The main ingredients are menthol and camphor, so it stinks, but this may be a small price to pay for relief. Available over-the-counter in most pharmacies. Inexpensive. Be sure to get the original formula, not the new "improved" formula. The original works better.

Back in my 30s I was working outdoors in the beautiful Yuma - El Centro area. In the summer I began getting an itchy back that would drive me crazy. I tried various lotions which did not help. Finally somebody suggested Cornhuskers. It is a bit difficult to find, but for my skin it stops the itch in minutes. It also heals cracked skin in about a day. Somehow I think there is not one lotion for everybody, so you need to try different ones to see what works with you.

I've heard of Cornhuskers, though I've never tried it. I think I've seen it in the Vermont Country Store catalog. They also have an 800 number.

I have been told that there is a shortage right now. I can only find it at Walmart and Walgreen's.
