Not necessarily. Quite a few years ago, I assisted with a burdizzo application. The effort was partially successful in that one testicle survived. The man who was clamped showed and described symptoms much like those described here.

It has been my experience that good advice given freely on this board about how who and when to be castrated usually falls on deaf ears, its after a time in the ER, mental ward that the hearing gets better.

I wonder why that is?

C is the answer.

We may not get an update for a few weeks, ER, Mental ward, but maybe then we will find out what happened.

When the hearing is better.

it's been 24 hours since i was clamped and my testicles are dead they are so cold and very hard, i'm sure if i could see inside my scrotum they would be black and dead. I have some minor pain from where the burdizzo clamped my scrotum.

I have heard of spermatic cords repairing themselves and the testicle survives but i would think 24 hours would be to long and my testicles would be dead.

Anyone know why they are hard

I have no idea, you seem to have all the answers so far, who or why do we think that our answers to your questions about castration would be worth anything? I am sure what ever you decide at this point will be the right decision for you.

So a question for you, how and when are you planning to remove the dead testicles?

Or

Are you going to let them go away all by themselves.

Understand, yes there are some that have gone the same way you have and its been a success, and if you get out of this without any problems I would say to you grats and your lucky. To many times on this board guys like you have come in and asked for advice then went off and did something in a totally unsafe way then when problem come up they ask why, so you must forgive us if we are not as excited as you about what has happened and still might. People have died doing what you just did, I do hope your not one of them and your not out of the woods yet.

cast1988,

The only way you'll know for sure is to see the doctor, get a testosterone blood test, let him or her feel your balls.

If your testicles are dead, ask to have them removed. There is a cancer risk with atrophied testicles and why you're at it, you might ask the doc to remove your scrotum, it's no good for nothing once the testicles are removed.

I have to admit, I know precious little about burdizzo/clamping. Maybe someone can enlighten me? If I understand the concept correctly, the clamp crushes/severs the various veins and cords connecting the testicles to the body.

The part I don't understand is how this isn't 100% fatal. You're severing a not insignificant blood vessel with no suturing or cauterizing. How does anyone survive this without emergency medical intervention? How does one just cut apart a vein and not inevitably bleed to death?

The burdizzo clamp was designed as a bloodless way of castrating farm animals. You can find a lot of information on agricultural sites. Even farm animals have complications.
