I've also been to Pittsburgh many more times than I can remember. It has a lot to offer, too. I'm just no thrilled about driving some exceptionally steep streets in the winter.
Those are the days you stay home from work

and wait for the plow to do he streets.

I was very, very impressed when I saw Pittsburgh circa 1980, expecting someplace that would look grimy like Camden and Philly. The hills and buildings were very similar to "the City". Surprisingly charming.
A benefit of living in a walking city on hills is the ladies have great looking legs.
If you walk in the hills, the guys have great legs too.

Where I live, "The City" refers to.....well, never mind.

On the other hand, the many sailboats and yachts plying Lake Michigan's blue-green waters remind me of one of the many visual pleasures San Francisco offers.
I have been to San Francisco more times than I can remember. The physical surroundings are outstanding. I love the climate (and I have been there at all times of the year). I first saw the Pacific Ocean many years ago as I drove over a hill top just south of the city.
If I could afford to live there, I would do so glady.

I love driving steep hills in the rain.

I love drive steeps hills in the rain and I could get used to driving them again in the snow. Your post reminded me of how much I love high altitude, steep, winding mountain roads that have no guardrails.
I agree with you: men who walk steep hills have great legs.
