Re: I'm now chemically castrated
Cast,
I am glad things are working out for you. Like most here in the archives, I recommend at least a year on chems. The first year can be rough emotionally, mentally, and adjusting to side-effects.
Plus, a big warning on anything non-mendical. There are plenty of stories of clamping or banding going wrong. Please do your homework and good luck.

She will get to the pharmacy today whilst i am at work so i can strat taking them as from today.

Re: I'm now chemically castrated
I am currently taking two SSRIs. Mirtazapine that I've been taking for eighteen months and Venlafaxine which I only started taking recently. The Mirtazapine had no effect on my libido or ability to get erections and had few initial side effects, but when I started the Venlafaxine I experienced a range of side effects including manic phases, delusions, paranoia, panic attacks and erectile dysfunction and inability to ejaculate. Several weeks on most of the side effects have eased and I can now sustain an erection and ejaculate, albeit with difficulty. As with any SSRI medication be prepared to experience some side effects during the first two weeks to month of starting them, and obviously if things get really bad seek medical advice.

No problems mate. Good luck I hope it works out for you. I haven't heard of Spiralexa. Does it have a long-term chemically castrating effect? Over the years I have taken half a dozen different SSRI medications and whilst some did initially affect libido and erectile function, as my body got used to the medication I found my libido and erections returned to normal levels. At the moment I am considering some form of chemical castration treatment so I'd be interested to hear of your experiences.

Yes, I took Lexapro for several years. It was prescribed to me for depression. A side effect can be reduced libido, reduced ejaculate and even impotence. I found my energy level and libido dropped. I still woke each morning with an erection. Typically when I had one any other time, I rarely had a desire to do anything with it. If I did have a desire to do something with it, I would tend to go soft somewhere in the middle of our activity and lose interest in what we were doing. So, for me, it was a some-a-time reaction with the Lexapro.
Paxil (regular release, not extended release) took me out of service within two weeks. No erections. No ejaculate. No interest in sex. Thinking about it, it was also the most under control my depression has ever been.
Lots o Luv, JJ

I took Seroxat (Paroxetine), which I believe is the same drug as Paxil, for 5 years and yes it definitely diminished sexual sensation but in my case I was mostly still able to have erections and ejaculate. I guess it just confirms to me how intense my hormone levels must be!

Re: I'm now chemically castrated
my docter told me this was a first level try-out, i already have an appointment end septembr to evaluate.
iff not sufficient he will most probably prescribe me Androcur (already mentioned that) altough because of the worse side effects he first suggested to try it this way. I do hope and so does she (my wife) to become fully impotent and inable to ejaculate.
Depo Provera wich i told him we've used before was not an option as far as he was concerned.
"fingers crossed huh ..."

Re: I'm now chemically castrated
Well, here is my story about Depo provera, After being on low HRT for over two years. I finally wanted to try something a little more effective; In november 2010, my testostrone level was 321, So i upped my HRT, and after a couple of months, I was starting to notice that my erections where getting harder to get, In March 2011, had my testostrone checked again 290 at that time. So after reading all that I could find on this website, Plus have a great talk with Krisstoff from this website, I ordered Depo Provera from (inhouse)
That was very easy and in ten days it arrived, six easy to use syringes, After reading some more and really not knowing what to expect and very nervous,of the unknown. I go in and have a good shower and get on the bed (naked) I get one syringe out and prepare it. Using some alcohol swob, clean an area on my upper thigh, Then pickup the syringe, and in it went (NO PAIN), set there for a few seconds, telling myself that it is going to be O.K., then slowly push the plunger in, and to my surprise, there was not any pain, as does with some meds that the doctors give. I just lay there on the bed for a minute or two. Then I get a very Erectic feeling and an erection along with this, knowing that I was going to be Chemically castrated. Then 7 days later i gave myself a second injection. At this time , I did not have any effects period, about a week and half later, is when I noticed a little change, I did sleep better and my penis was not as hard as it had been, and after four weeks, NO hard ons, and a sexless calm, That was very good. After 30 days I gave myself a third injection. Three within five weeks, I did notice that I was starting to have some cold flashes, and this lasted for about 20 days then after, My fourth injection, I did start having very small hot flashes, And those where GREAT, knowing that the Depo was working. Now that I have given myself my Six injection. The effects are great and my body is getting used to the feeling of low testostrone. And I know it just takes time to get thru it all. Now after almost six months on Depo, my penis and testicle have shrunk up a lot. I used to be about 7 inches, and now I am about 1/1/2 inches, and my testicles are soft and up almost inside me. (About the size of a four year old boy) And I love it, NO erections , no side effects, other than the normal ones, No ejaculate, comes out (DRY), I am working thru the low energy level with diet and exrecise. I have gone to my Doctor a had my testostrone checked It was (41) and has been below (50) for more than 45 days now. All I can say about Depo Provera, it is easy to use, and it is a very effective way to go, For Me that is. So All I can say is if you are like I was, very scared to go all the way. Try chemical first and then if you like the effects then, have them surgically removed. I am going to stay on Depo for over a year, and Then if I like it I will be Surgically castrated. All I can say is use some common sense and read all the info you can, And You can get all the info you need from this great website, go SLOW, try chemical first, it is not that costly. And then if you like the effects then go out and get surgically castrated, How knows after you try chemical and you do not like the effects, you can stop the Depo and you will return to normal.
