And it is amazing how many of "them" don't even have the common courtesy to speak English. 🃏

Is there any truth to the rumor that the 10 "Lost Tribes" are going to come down from the north and drive the European Foreigners out of America?

Hi everyone,

I really am amazed at how many of you go for all this "nationalism". The US is a country of immigrants. And collectively these immigrants committed genocide on the native Americans, killing 95% of them, which is why you don't ever see a native american family out to dinner, unless you live on or near a reservation.

The reason the US was able to accumulate so much wealth was because we were the first to set up a government that would favor business interests over human interests. This place is one money making place. But that greatness comes from all the people around the world who came here and brought their ideas and their customs and their way of thinking about things and put them together with people who have differing ideas, to become a place of innovation. Much like the way Rome became great.

I do not think that Americans are greater than Canadians or that Canadians are greater than Americans or that anyone is greater than anyone else, by virtue of where they were born, or what their national citizenship is. I was raised in the Cold War and was taught to believe that Russians were inferior and their ways were inferior and it was all a pack of lies. It turns out that Russians are very much like us. They have brilliant minds, excellent athletes, great engineers, Universities of higher learning as well as a whole myriad of other accomplishments.

We are all just people, and if anyone thinks that the average American understands the complexities of the monetary system or international trade or foreign policy, you are kidding yourself. For all the talk, I do know this: The average American now works 55 hours a week, gets two weeks vacation and consistently is #1 in productivity. Productivity being a ratio between cost of labor vs goods produced. Americans are very focused on materialism. Our whole way of life is based on getting more stuff than ones neighbor. Social status is determined by one's net worth.

Americans are not bad people, they just have a shitty government that masks itself as democracy. The real purpose of this government is to protect and grow the wealth of about 400 of the wealthiest families on the planet. The corporations are in control of all the media outlets, so there is no opposing view and with control of the Supreme Court in republican/corporate control, People who own corporations can give unlimited amounts to political candidates, while us regular humans have a $2300 limit. So they get to vote twice and with an unlimited voice. They tell lies about what they are doing and repeat it as if it were true.

Everyone knows that at some point capitalism fails, it always does and everyone has been predicting the demise of the US and the US dollar for a very long time now. But the truth is, no one knows when it will happen. Could be this year, could be a hundred years.

There is no US and THEM, everyone is getting screwed by every government in some way. What I have noticed is that the Haves seem to have a lot more than the Havenots and the gap is growing and not just here in the US, everywhere.

That is a very good post, the sweet voice of reason, and every American should read it careully at least twice, non Americans perhaps three times.

However, given the constraints on those in power do you really think you could any better? If you were to get into power by some sheer act of luck what could you really do to improve things? First of all you wouldn't hear yourself think from the cacophany of lobbyists and interest groups. You're trillions in debt: "What the hell can I do about that?" Most of the Moslem world hates your guts but you still have to buy their oil. Elizabeth isn't the only who thinks you're trying to screw them. The South would still secede if it got half a chance. You want to do some good like getting a decent health care system for all and get villified for it.

Meanwhile the Chinese and Indians are racing to overtake your economy and the Russians look like they are pulling ahead in the space race.

So rather than try to do some good for all those ungrateful bastards out there, why not just line your pockets and simply carry on screwing them?

Heck. It works for African leaders.
