I should add now, that one of the best features of the series as a whole was the feeling of vulnerability the characters seemed to have. In other shows (like Star Trek, Stargate, etc), you always knew that if the actor's name was in the opening credits, they'd live no matter what was thrown at them. With Babylon 5, I never got that feeling. Instead, it seemed that just about any of them could go at any minute, that they were all potential victims to the larger forces at work around them.

Admittedly, they all did live, and all had quite fitting personal arcs and their own conclusions to their stories, but at the time it seemed like you could never be sure that they'd live to see the next episode.

If they released the entire series as a box set on blu ray id totally buy it. On a side note, I was lookin at you guys profiles and it seems y'all got me by like an average of 30 years. I mantion babylon 5 to anyone in my age group and they look at me like im speaking a foreign language.

Babylon 5 has real character development and a story arc that includes a whole bunch of characters. The story really does begin in one year and progress through five years. It's much better than the single episodes that seem unrelated with each other of other science fiction and lots of regular TV programs.

His #2 shining moment had to be him dealing with the Drazi stall-owner who had tried to bug them. That whole scene where he walks into Londo's quarters, grabs a sword off the wall, and heads back out is absolutely priceless.

By far and away though, his best moments of the series occurs first when the Shadow operative asks him what he wants:

Of course, the crowning moment doesn't come until several seasons later, when Vir does just that. He walks out into the garden, looks up, looks around carefully, smiles... and waves, just like that. Beautiful writing.

Yes, both priceless, and I agree Vir is maybe my favorites in that series.

It really did set a standard that all others fail to follow.

I was thinking about it today and thought who was my favorite person in the series. I decided I needed three.

G'Kar, Vir, Lyta, Ivanova and Garibaldi.

Oops, that's five.

Damn, I hate it when that happens.

How about the truth in a vision that Bab 5 would suffer an explosive, firey demise.

Just to find out it was in the way of a planned super space highway. Had to be cleared. As with Star Trek, Bab5 stayed loyal to it's lore as it unfolded.

Why didn't it generate Babers as there are Trekies?

Thanks for the memories. Keep 'em coming please and don't assume we all have the same Bab5 encyclopedia. ;)

Moi

Can't find any online sites for Bab 5. :(

There use to be a couple.

Vir and Lennier at the bar.

Vir is drinking a Shirley Temple saying they are really good.

Lennier says he has studied Earth religions but never heard of a Shirley Temple.

How about the episode featuring the two maintenance guys. Ordered to take Delenn to an escape pod she talks them out of it. And some Centari ?lunch meat? called spoo(?). It either tastes horrible or like chicken. Depending if you are trading for someone else's lunch.
