HK, do you still have the affects you experienced while taking Androcur? Are you still eunuch? Or have you gotten back some sex drive? If so, how much?

Please...sorry if I seem intrusive.. Thanks dragonfly

Hi Dragonfly,

I welcome any question and share my experience with others on EA. So, please do feel free to ask.

I consider myself still a eunuch permanently.

Even while taking Androcur, I was never completely sexless. The longest I could go on without any release was about a month.

The lowest point of my libido was when I first started adding Tamoxifen to the regiment, after about a year or so on Androcur. At the time, the dosages were relatively high -- Androcur at about 150 mg/day, and Tamoxifen at 40 mg/day. The feeling was pretty freaky to me -- a complete loss of all sexual or sensual feelings. Within a week of that, I ramped down the dosages slowly until I reached my comfortable sustaining dosage of Androcur at 25 mg and Tamoxifen at 10 mg. At the sustaining level, I regained a little bit of libido -- like wanting and being able to do anything sexual that ranged from once every 1 to 4 weeks. Erections were achieved after much stimulation and were weak and short lived.

My ejaculate has gone dry only at the beginning of my taking Androcur. From stopping and restarting Androcur several times, my ejaculate has returned but much less in amount and weaker -- more like a leaky drip than any ejaculation.

Now, almost 1 year since I stopped Androcur completely, I am still pretty much at the same level. I have to maintain Tamoxifen because if I stopped both meds, I felt my growing pains in my breasts, which I did not wish to develop -- having developed a little bit and as much as I want already. From this observation, I guessed that my level of estrogen is now higher than androgen. In other words, my testicles are not returning to producing any testosterone any more.

My penis remained about the same as when I was on Androcur. If anything, it got smaller during this past year. My testicles remained achy at times, just like before stopping Androcur, and felt noticeably smaller.

Current sex drive and ability remained pretty much the same. Erections are a little easier to achieve, but remain short-lived and similarly difficult to maintain. Most of the time, the erection remained soggy, for lack of a better description, with the penis getting a bit bigger, but remained soft. Ejaculate amounts remained the same as before but seemed to shoot out a little bit stronger than the previous drip. As mentioned in other threads, I could achieve orgasm while the penis remained completely soft, tucked inside my body.

As I read from other threads in EA, quite a few surgical eunuchs seem to have the same level of sexual drive and ability as me. As such, I consider myself a happy eunuch ... permanently.:)

I am currently on my 5th day of Siterone. I take 100mg per day, split into 2 doses(50mg with breakfast, 50mg with dinner). It was only the morning of day 2 and I started to experience aches in my testicles. They were minor, maybe 3/10 on the pain scale, and lasted only 5 seconds or so. They weren't constant. They only happened once every 5-10 minutes. By day 3, they were a little more intense, maybe 4/10, but they still were only 5-10 seconds long and happened about every 5 minutes. Day 4 was pretty interesting. The ache in each testicle was constant. It did not fade, but remained at around 4/10 for most of the day. However, after I took my evening dose, the aches seemed to die down a bit. They were still constantly aching, but it was only a 2 or 3 on the pain scale. Now, day 5, the aching in my left testicle, the larger and lower hanging of the 2, has basically stopped. My right testicle still constantly aches, but it's down to a 2 on the pain scale.

I was, and still am, shocked that I got this reaction, and especially this quickly. It wasn't a side effect I had really heard of in the literature I had read, but once it got to day 3, I re-read the sticky and found it's normal. Not sure if they're starting to give up. This has been the biggest development thus far. Will keep everyone posted(even though this thread is kinda old).

I have been on androcur and estrogen. I did experience aching balls as well, but it was within the first 2 weeks and I did notice shrinkage at the 2 week mark. I had pretty large balls to start with, so maybe size plays a part?

All that long term aching sure makes a fast castration seem more attractive. Unless men enjoy feeling that slow castration and experiencing a longer process to ending the balls that took so many years to grow to maturity. Most castrations last far too short of a time for sex organs that took so many years of nurturing to grow to harvesting ripeness.

I had aching balls for years on Androgel. I guess anything that messes with them makes them hurt.

I have had 4 years of Androcur and then stopped it in 2009 because the low testosterone side effects were taking too big a toll on my life and health. To my delight, my castration was permanent by then. Even after being put on low dose testosterone replacement, my genitals continued to shrink and my libido returned only mildly. However, every so often, I would still get ball pain.
