END OF SEASON ONE...

WOW! is a I can say.

There is a problem in all of science fiction -- revealing the science is a bore. In a zombie story, it is the backstory of how the zombies came to be and how the world fell apart. They waited until Part 6 to tell that backstory and just fit it into the interpersonal angst of the story -- all of the secrets just fell out into the open along with the reasons the world crumbled.

Frank Darabont (Writer and producer) said he didn't know if show #6 was the last so he didn't want a cliffhanger. He ends with a eye-opening bang and I, for one, felt satisfied with the story and the fate of the survivors we've been following.

I love it when the writers and producers treat the audience as having a brain and having some smarts. There are so few shows that consistently deliver good drama. This is one of those show.
