The ill effects of absinthe are greatly exaggerated. In the dosage available in absinthe, thujone has no great effect, I find it similar to the clarity that comes with a good shot of caffeine. Any ill effects come from the very high alcohol content. (100-160 proof) but it is drunk diluted anywhere from 1-1 to 1-6.

Stick with good brands, dilute it properly and drink slowly. If you like licorice and like spirits, you will probably like absinthe. As always, moderation in all things, (including moderation)

I had my fill of drunks who drunk anything alcoholic a long time ago. I drink a glass of wine from bottes I opened and that's it. I don't drink any of those new things they invent with funky ingredients and strange flavors.

As I recall, a glass of wine with a meal is good for you.

Vieux Pontarlier 65

is supposed to be good Absinthe.

The first night I diluted with an equal volume of chilled water and it was a bit, rough.

Today I diluted a tad less Absinthe with chilled water and added some sugar. Much more palatable.

I tried and never felt the big whoop of cocaine or nicotine as destroys others.

My plan is to keep exploring Absinthe.

Any break throughs will be reported.
