The Catholic Church no longer Recognizes castration as an option unless done for medical reasons . The only reason that the church ever condoned castration was for it's angelic male chior singers "Castrati". I believe the last castrati died in the early part of the last century. I may be wrong as to the time frame. The family that offered thier child to be castrated was paid a handsome sum by the Church, for the loss of Offspring. As a Catholic that carries the guilt of the world on her shoulders, and often struggled with the dicision to transition and ultimately had the Orchiectomy. My take on this is God needs me to learn a lesson and he made me the way I am to achieve that goal. So throw the yoke of guilt that the Church lays on your shoulders away and live your life on your own terms.

Also before a Pope can be fully Vested he must prove that he is a fully functioning male with all the acrutrement attached. This is done so that another female Pope wont ever get ellected to the Papacy again. The church doesn't talk about that. I can't remember this Popes name. However, the Cardinals were none to happy to find out.

Why should anybody really care about what the Catholic Church says & thinks, its out-dated dinosaur and its serves no-useful purpose, its should be allowed to die off. We all have brains and can & decide for ourselfs without the Catholic Church brain-washing.

That would hold true for all Churches, or any other religion for that matter.

This is a well known medieval myth widely studied by historicians.

Hey All, I am not an administrator of this site, but... This site is supposed to be open and accepting. Please do not put down anyone's beliefs, whether or not you agree with them. I grew up Catholic and am now Protestant. I don't agree with the Catholic church, but do not believe I have the right to put down the church or its believers, as I also don't believe I should condemn those of other faiths or no faith at all. Thank you.

I agree. I was brought up Catholic, and am still Catholic and have no plans to cease being Catholic. I am greatly offended by what I read here. The Church is made up of 1 billion people and a very large number of clergy, each and every one of which is as imperfect as the next. Though most of us strive to be better, there are bad apples in any large population group and we're no exception. To tar and feather all Catholics and clergy for adhering to "myths" or being "pedophiles" does a great disservice to the many decent Catholics, and the many priests and religious who are involved in charitable causes around the world.

Religious put-downs have no more place here than put-downs over one's sexuality.

I'd like to ask an administrator to cancel my membership on this forum, but am unsure of how to go about it. I have to read enough factually-incorrect garbage about my faith in the media. No need to read more of it here.
