you know I have always had good luck with fords and bad luck with chevys, except one a caviler which was one of the worst cars chevy made but I had one for 300,000 plus miles. gave it to easter seals when I got my ford truck. go figure,
I don't have the truck anymore, it got totaled by a tornado.

I can tell you why Ford never took a government bailout and said they had a profit: it came from sales of PARTS!
Ahh, I see you too have had to fix a Ford.
I sometimes joke with my gearhead friends, at the parts counter when I have to go get a Ford part or something, and the conversation invariably turns to how bad Fords are and only idiots buy Fords, and... etc. Well, I quickly and loudly point out that "Any moron can keep a Chevy on the road, it takes a mechanical genius like myself to keep a Ford running!"
Somedays, when I am really frustrated and tired of fixing vehicles, I sort of joke with myself, that if I ever were to go stark raving bonkers and get violent, I could always use an insanity defense in a court: "Please your Honor, consider mercy and leniency on my case, you see, I had been working on a Ford that day and..." If the judge and jury had ever had to fix a Ford, I do believe they would give heavy consideration to that fact.
