A Word from Our Media Center

Yesterday evening, we began to see online "news" accounts of Dr. George Rekers, a reparative therapist for homosexuals, actually being involved with a male prostitute. Some of the stories identified Rekers as being a founding board member of Family Research Council. I had never heard of Dr. Rekers, so I asked our corporate attorney to review past documents. We did verify that Dr. Rekers was a member of the original Family Research Council Board prior to its merger with Focus on the Family in 1987. FRC has had no contact with Dr. Rekers or knowledge of his activities in over a decade, so I can't speak to what he may or may not have done. However, I can say that while it's extremely disappointing when any Christian leader engages in the very activities that they "preach" against, it's not surprising. The Scriptures clearly teach the fallen nature of all people. We each have a choice to act upon that nature or accept the forgiveness offered by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. As leaders, we should do our best to ensure our actions--both public and private--match our professed positions.

You just just have to love how these folks close ranks. "I had never heard of Dr. Rekers" although apparently.... "We did verify that Dr. Rekers was a member of the original Family Research Council"

I suspect old Dr. Rekers is feeling a bit Haggard.... Ted Haggard that is :dong::dong::dong:😄

Go ahead click the link.... I dare ya... no... I double dare ya! Muwahahahahaha!!!! 😄😄😄

It's easier to deny rights and respect to homosexuals if you never admit to knowing one. Especially a closet case who you've worked with. Keeping them at arm's length makes them easier to call "other," bad, and sinful.

Does anyone remember?

Doesn't this episode of "Hypocrisy in Action" sort of remind you of Senator Larry Craig? Remember him? He was the NOT gay ("Christian" and "conservative") senator who liked to hang out in airports...

And you know, I remember having the very same feeling then, the feeling of "mixed emotions" or something like that. When Senator Larry Craig was shown up to have a liking for muscular male vice cops in airports, first I thought "Aha! What a lousy hypocrit this 'conservative' senator is!" but then I though "HAH! So WHAT IF ONE CONSENTING ADULT PROPOSITIONS ANOTHER CONSENTING ADULT?!" See? That is where the "mixed emotion" thing comes to me.

I think ANYONE, even sick, stupid old guys ought to have the right to get their rocks off so long as they aren't hurting anyone and only playing with other consenting adults. Hell, I could easily done the deeds myself. I would very much enjoy a 10 day european vacation... maybe not with "Rentboy.com" sort of companions, but maybe I would like them. Either way, I think it is entirely OK, good even, for consenting adults to get away and have erotic fun with each other from time to time. So I cannot condemn this hypocrit without being a bit of a hypocrit myself.

THEN... THEN... the other "mixed emotions" come to mind. THIS CREEP MADE A LIVING AS A PROFESSIONAL HOMOPHOBE! When I think of all the grief and suffering he has caused with his lies and pseudo-scientific bullshit... well I think HE ought to get a double dose of what happened to Matthew Shepard. But if I did that to this "Rekers" (actually, "Wrecker") fellow, then I would be just like the creeps that killed Shepard... like those creeps, who were probably lauded by some of the pseudo-conservative pieces of shit who subscribe to Rekers insane reasoning...

Well, when I see one of the "mighty" from the religious-right get shot down like this it always causes in me, some mixed emotion. First I am happy to see the piece of lying shit get shot down, then I am sort of taken back because I know full well that I only wish I could have a ten day sex/fun vacation.

There is a big difference,

He uses his bully pulpit to condemn everything then goes and does it, he is a Hypocrite.

You, don't condemn it so if you do that its just fine.

There is a big difference.
