I just drove thru Gil's valley. It is actually quite a pretty western valley. I was surprised at this late date that yellow flowers still lined the road into Clayton Valley.
Hope you got lots of touring in Gil. I wasn't there for most of the year, but it looks like one to be remembered.

Was out of the country, so not here for the expected bloom. But my neighbors say it was pretty much a bomb. Not all the requisites hit with the right timing. There was plenty of precipitation over the winter for sure. But the warm spring weather came very late. We had frost and snow flurries as late as early June. Yet the first signs of warm weather hit in mid-April. The flowers refused to pop. Deciding instead to defer their glorious showing to another spring.
Time is something we humans will never really grok.
