Your adrenal Glands are making that Testosterone. It probably won't change nor will your lack of sex drive. Talk to your wife in detail about how your "acting" and see if this is working for her. It might be that your thinking everything is fine but your not taking care of things, acting depressed, having mood problems etc and HRT would be a good choice.

If your not taking Calcium (600mg 2x a day) and Vitamin D you SHOULD! Talk to your doctor before you start but bone loss IS a serious problem for us. And most certainly if your not on HRT.

Good luck with Surgery. After the surgery if you feel the need to sneeze or laugh LEAN forward. It hurts otherwise for a while *Until you heal.

Osteoporosis or osteopina has no symptoms. I was chemically castrated for over 2 1/2 years before my testes were removed and I only took 400mg of calcium in my multi-vitamin, avoided milk because of carbs. Maybe a month or so after my surgery, my doctor ordered a bone scan done which showed a mild case of osteopina and bone loss. The number was -0.1. Osteopina is a negative number up to -1 and osteoporosis is anything beyond -1. I added 1200mg of aditional calcium daily and a small amount of testosterone. My doctor said I could take either testosterone or estrogen which greatly aids the absorbtion of calcium. After about 7 months of this, we found a free osteoporosis screening and the number improved to +0.7 so the added calcium did work well. ( My insurance only pays for a bone density scan every two years so this test gave some info before I could get another scan done)

My last t level was at 29 ng/dL. Can I expect that to drop even lower?

I just ask that as I have been able to rise to the occasion so to speak, by no means where they spontaneous but it was quite satisfactory for my wife. I for one still have no need or desire for sex but if my wife does I am there for her.

Does osteoporosis take quite some time to set in or does this very greatly from individual to individual. I don't at this time have any desire to start TRT but that could change if my health comes into play.

Thanks Terry

Wish you the best of the surgery.

You are at castration levels.

Osteoporosis can happen. After just 2.5 years on androcur I was at a bad level of bone density. With drugs and time I am back to a normal reading.

Watch what you eat. Weight gain is more possible now. Make sure you are getting at least 1500mg of calcium a day. Most of the effects you should have already gone through. Depression can still set in once you realize that it is now for real and no going back.

Again best of luck. :D
