Re: Diabetes
I have solved my cravings two ways...AND, U do need to deal with it so you will not loose control! 1st, I do eat cake & ice cream at parties or social occasions BUT I just eat a few tiny tastes around the sides and then discretely toss the rest. 2nd, I have worked to develop other cravings...Mine happens to be a can of spinach! Really.......

Re: Diabetes
Just be careful with those rooty veggies and fruits. Most fruits are bad news. You'll have to look them up on carb/sugar content, such as with http://www.carb-counter.org/
Other veggies to avoid are peas (in quantity, canned are full of sugar), corn, and check the values for members of the squash family.
About the only fruits I can tolerate are berries, a few grapes, 1 cup of cantaloupe, or a baseball sized apple.
Once you slice out the "carbage" (junk carbs and starch) you'll really begin to lose weight and feel better. My BG was 64 last night, and 88 tonight. I am aiming to bust my A1C down to 5.0 or less this next go in June. Will do March tomorrow night with a Reli-On home test kit; email results in about 5 days.

Re: Diabetes
I did blow it for lunch today and had a bit of pizza, but only 1 crust; the rest I nibble and rake the toppings. I was 64 the other night, then 88, now 86. Then again, I ripped out about 20 feet of overgrown fenceline tonight, too. I've been waking up in the low 90's, upper 80's. I attribute this to a low-carb, high fat, high protein diet for the last four years, with only the once-weekly splurge.
