To: Those of you who are alone and lonely on Valentine's Day
I would like to tell you that there ARE things much worse than being alone, even worse than being alone and lonely. I will not let this post degenerate into a "woe is me! Boo Hoo! I've got it worse than you!" sort of a self pity fest. Suffice to say, I am NOT alone this day, and I truly miss the time that I was alone, FREE, and happy.
So, to all you poor lonely souls out there, do NOT be too hurried to surrender your freedom and solitude. Once you are roped into matrimonial hell, there is NO practical escape, divorce and alimoney is costly, a high price to pay for something that is rightfully yours already.
Instead of feeling blue this Valentine's day.... May I suggest something? Seriously. if you are alone this day, there IS something that you should do, to celebrate the love that you have for the most important person in your life... Look in the mirror and say "I love YOU! Thankyou! Thankyou, you wise and caring person who has kept me from the matrimonial HELL that seems to have so many of my misfortunate friends and collegues." Then go and do something sweet and nice, (and maybe a little bit selfish) for YOURSELF! You more than anyone, should celebrate this day.

Buy a blow-up (male) sex doll. Make a reservation for two at a pricey French restaurant. Tell the headwaiter your date is late, then blow up the doll at your table
Sadly my favorite pricey French Restaurant will not seat you until all your party has arrived.

As for holidays, I like them in this order,
Thanksgiving
4th of July
Memorial Day
Halloween but its a religious holiday so it really does not count.
The rest they could canx on account, all of them for all of the reasons listed above,
River

My Auntie is back out of the hospital. My cousin took her out last Friday. And now I am back with her today on St. Valentine's day for at least the next couple of weeks at least. I wish I could say that I'm the one that's doing the sacrificing for her but the fact of the matter is that I actually eat pretty well when I'm around her. Somehow her beans and tortillas and everything else are so much better than the best steaks at the fanciest restaurant.
