The traditional male or female symbol inside the circle indicates that the wearer is a slave, and there is merchandise available. Check out

At one time, several years back, I wanted to get a 'this end up' sign with corresponding arrows pointing downwards on my lower back. :D

My end of it has always been up. Damn! Didn't know one needed a traffic sign.....

The usualfulness of such signage I suppose depends on how much traffic a particular intersection receives. *shrugs*
