It seems that each generation has it's tragedy - when my parents were young, it was Pearl Harbor; for me, it was the assassination of JFK; and for my children, it was 9/11 (especially for my youngest son who was living and working on Long Island at the time - he spent most of 9/11 and the following few days helping man a crisis center hotline).

Of course, my parents have lived through all 3 events (mom just turned 80, dad will turn 82 in Feb), I've lived through 2 of them (I'll never forget my panic all day 9/11 because I couldn't get in touch with my youngest), and I honestly hope and pray that 9/11 will be the worst event of my children's lives - but I fear it won't be.........

Maybe Vietnam would have turned out differently but to me it seems that Kennedy was just a bunch of "Hope & Change" and his assasination galvanized his place in history more so than if he had served his term.

Ramses,

Have you read "The Fourth Reich"?

If not you should. I find some of the propositions in it incredible, such as the Nazi atomic bomb and the claim that the U.S. atomis weapons of WWII were made from Nazi U-235, but others, are very suspicious.

Lots of information, some good, some preposterous...
