I have three mouses. One Microsoft with a USB connection, one Labtech wireless and one oldish Naviga with the round green plug that connects to the special mouse port on the pc.
They all work for a while and then I get that seize up effect. With the Naviga mouse the cursor wanders around by itself sometimes, hand off.
If I change mouses the replacement will work for a few days before it too starts playing up. I have yet to find anyone who knows what the fault is.
Of course, it never happened in the old days when mouses had balls.

That's the BEST argument that I've ever heard for NOT castrating mice
