For that to be the case, he would have to have had what is called an area bock and, given this area, there's no one area, you are dealing with several and the problems of anaesthetizing all the areas increases exponentially with each area. Beyond that, you have to be able to verify that the drugs are "holding", that the patient is in no pain. IF there is perceptible pain, you have a patient that cannot be stabilized in terms of movement. Every touch will cause an involuntary spasm. I do understand that Thailand is the leader (sic) in these types of surgeries but I also note that all the patients mentioned were "ladyboys" who may have required far less detail or that some previous procedures had been done.

I will remain very skeptical and, should anyone from North America go there expecting this sort of quick fix, they are in for either a bitter surprise or very poorly done work; Surgery takes time, just closing the various incisions on something like this could take more than an hour.
