Actually this explains a lot of things in the article.

It is sad that even Today, quite a lot of doctors are like this, especially in more concervative (typically catholic) countries. I know one person from the Eastern part of Europe who was declared being mental for similar things. It is not clear are they really this way, as no proper evaluation was ever done by GID specialist.
