Well at least that one's partially true. Between the Iraq and Afghanistan fiascos, the market meltdown in the fall of 2008, the huge US debt, and the fact that China is the US's largest creditor, there is some truth to that statement...

Is it time to blame the Republicans?

About Y2K. Someone's alleged "supreme being" sat back and chuckled at all who celebrated the arrival of the twenty-first century on January 1, 2000.

Do your math...Century 21 did not happen until Janmuary 1, 2001.

Nah, politicians. Democrat. Republican. You couldn't slip a dollar bill between them. Neither could manage a piggy-bank, let alone a trillion-dollar economy.

Remember.

Remember a, before time.

A Time when no product was, "Made in China".

Then, NIXON went to China.

Then there was free trade.

Then my Farberware coffee pot was, made in China with no brew control,

and we became intoxicated on a new source of cheaper consumer, stuff.

Yes Blame the Republicans and NIXON who created this situation

that corrupted the domestic economy evidenced by American workers

no longer employed and able to afford the stuff they make.

Blame the Republicans and "Free Trade" profiteers who fashion a

"tea party" phrase, free trade, to more secretly poison the earth and increase personal profits.

That poison in China, resulting in birth defects, is going to drift here someday.

Ghia

One Earth

Poisoning Chinese tide lands effects the Pacific Tuna population. Seriously, does any reader here not know this?

One Earth, but, I suspect the Republicans may have a secret second Earth somewhere.

Good Luck to us all and

May the Force protect us from rabid capitalism.

God's Church Ministry, Fall 2008

According to God's Church minister Ronald Weinland, the end times were upon us -- again. His 2006 book "2008: God's Final Witness" stated that hundreds of millions of people will die, and by the end of 2006, "there will be a maximum time of two years remaining before the world will be plunged into the worst time of all human history. By the fall of 2008, the United States will have collapsed as a world power, and no longer exist as an independent nation." As the book noted, "Ronald Weinland places his reputation on the line as the end-time prophet of God."

This guy was, at least, close. The World's economy almost crashed, and it looks like China will definitely come out on top. Not only do we owe them over a trillion dollars, but they're doing everything right. They're putting a bunch of money into their infrastructure and into investing in alternative energy sources, and they're not having to borrow money to do it. Their economy is still expanding.

Unfortunately, we're not out of it yet. 2008 might still prove to be the end for us and the Western nations. We've ceded the control of our economy to China and to the countries of the Middle East. Even if we avoid a world-wide depression, we may be hit with unprecedented inflation.

So, even if 2008 wasn't the end, it might be the beginning of the end, which might come - say 2012.:)
