I have been on Siterone for almost ten months. From my experience one needs six months to feel the full effects of the drug and for the body to adapt itself to the changes. My biggest barrier was overcoming a constant tired feeling, particularly in the late morning hours. Hot flashes were mild and are no longer an issue for me.
100 mg seems to be a good starting point, and then reducing it to 75 or 50 mg at some point, depending upon the results.
Since I have no nocturnal erections anymore, my penile size has decreased substantially. Erections are half the size than they were before and when I have relations with my wife they are not very strong or long lasting. Testicle sizes also have decreased noticeably.
I also take Tamoxifen to prohibit breast growth, as well as DHEA and a number of vitamin supplements. I don't know what effect they have on the Siterone, if any.
The fact that my wife appreciates my significantly reduced sex drive has encouraged me to continue with it.

Thank you for letting me know of your experiences, sounds like I have a long way to go but I suppose we all have to start somewhere.
I will look into Tamoxifen as from what you have said it will do away with any unwanted side effects, hopefully.

The only effect that I have noticed from taking Tamoxifen has been no increase in breast size despite almost ten months on Siterone; whereas, I almost immediately noticed an increase when I started on Siterone, which prompted me to add it to my daily regimine.
I don't know what other effect it may have; however, I have read that it helps to reduce libido. Other than that, I have no other knowledge of its efficacy.

Also, I have read here that Tamoxifen helps to prevent osteoporosis and the redistribution of fat. I have no personal knowledge of this, however. Maybe others can comment.

Hey Jay,
I cannot ad much to this multitude of reactions, exept perhaps of this:
1. I underline the very potent effect Riven has described. Maybe you can read my experiences here:
http://www.eunuch.org/vbulletin/showthr ... 278&page=2 (look for 'vesal_mas')
2. The most important: be patient ! Don't overdose, just wait.
3. And yes a test drive is very good idea. Indeed, not that many surgical eunuchs are not on HRT. You may see lots of castration fixations may wither away, just after some weeks on androcur.
I learned very much taking androcur, esp this: Im a man now, a whole man and Im very happy:

Whatever you so: Be careful, you have only one body !
Take care.
Vesal.

Regarding: "
wither away......."
This was so very true for me and it was a very big unexpected surprise.
Nearly five decades of wanting to be castrated and after having finally reduced my testosterone level I lost my intense craving and desire to be castrated. It is still something of interest to me, but such feelings are not the all consuming ones I had most of my life.
Testosterone reduction pretty much took the whole subject of sex and turned it into an unimportant footnote in my life. Spending less time thinking of sexual fantasies and frustrations I can now think about and focus on just simply living life.
Think of how much pain you have when you badly stub a toe, and how good it feels when it finally stops hurting.
Well practically all my life felt like I was living a stubbed toe, but at last there is relief and it feels so good. Reduction of testosterone has been my ticket to physical, mental and emotional peace of mind and personal freedom. My ONLY regret is that I was not more proactive earlier in my life in reducing my T level.

It's now been 6 days since I started taking the Siterone. I've noticed that I get a dull ache in my balls, sometimes it lasts for just a minute or so and some times for much longer. Is this normal and what does it mean? ie too higher dose, just right etc.

Such an ache is a commonly reported experience, especially when first starting siterone or Androcur.
