No, the EA is not closing. Pay no attention to the rumor-mongers. Everything is under control.

This rumour raises an important question in my mind, however. Suppose that eventually the EA DOES close, what will happen to the stories ? As the author of about 120 of them, this is of great concern to me. This is my literary legacy [Lah de Dah !] and I don't think that I have copies of all of them.

Damn! That really would suck if those stories were lost, I have read many of your stories and enjoyed them.

I seriously do not see the EA closing anytime soon so I don't think it is an urgent matter, but I do believe some of this websites content should somehow be "backed up" on a disk somewhere. But if it were not for this website, I doubt there are any other places where those stories could be posted. This is a tough call for me to make, but I think the author of any story here should maintain his or her own back-up library.

You open your favorite story and go to FILE, SAVE AS, and pick your format. Save a copy on your own media, like a flash stick. Most all fanfiction sites will tell you to do this.

No, the story archive isn't going anywhere soon.

I want to add that I think highly of this board and feel you all have done a lot to help a lot of people. I throw in that back a few years ago I was involved in a group for TG types. I know how much work it takes to keep an operation like this going.

Well don't feel too awfully bad about it all Glenda J., we all had some fun with it.

"The EA IS CLOSING! THE EA IS CLOSING!" Just like "the sky is falling!" etc. It was actually entertaining to me, and it did cause some of us to at least contemplate the unthinkable, Paulo explained to us (again) how dreadfully simple it is to back-up and save the stories we like. And I am still too much of an "I.T. retard" to know just what the hell a "flash stick" is.
