There are pros and cons to all methods. Sadly , the success of laser is directly related to the ability of the practitioner. Some are just better than others.
Electrolysis is pricey but in the long run much mire effective.
My suggestion would be to start out with regular (every 4 weeks) waxing. With each waxing a certain amount of the folicles will come out. The hair will slowly thin out. once you have reduced the number to a manageable level, then seek out the electrolysist. That way , since its pay by the time used, you'll need less time.
One old friend of mine waxed his pubic region for about 3 years, now he has nothing left at all. Never did need any electrolysis.

For me this doesn't workdevi (imported) wrote: Sat Jul 25, 2009 9:41 am Maybe with the price of laser/eloctrolysis it might be well worth it to spend some time in the sun afterall and "burn" those hair roots.

Creating new follicles should be a consideration regarding cosmetic failure.
Occasionally, it is not the fault of the provider, but one's own physiology.

Re: Electrolysis vs Laser / IPL
I had both laser and electrolysis hair removal (on my armpits and pubes). I had 6 treatments on Laser, then I switched to galvanic electrolysis to clear up.
It depends on your hair type and your skin type, if you are a suitable candidate, thinning and lighting your hair with Laser may be a great result.
Male facial hair is quite tough. With either one, you will be looking at spending quite a fair bit amount of money and time.
If you decide to go for electrolysis, I would suggest going for galvanic. Although you won't get 'instant gratification' from each galvanic treatment (compared to thermolysis or laser), the result is much more lasting.

laser will take a few sessions but it is easier and quicker. The only problem is laser will not get any light colored hair. I had my entire pubic area lasered and was surprised at how much white hair was there not noticeable but there. here is where electrolysis would help get it all.
