That was a very spirited defence of free speech and freedom of imagination and I largely, in theory agree.

I appreciate stories flag up at the top their themes and it does give the individual the choice whether to continue or not, I know. But another part of me thinks that we ought to be very cautious in exploring imaginatively such extreme conclusions.

Call me a wet minded liberal maybe but I got it off my chest and out into the open. Your points are taken but "snuff", personally,

I think, ought not to be encouraged in even the most imaginative

fiction.....some things are best left for the reader to interpret or best left unwritten, and you will lynch me for saying that, sorry!

Calling for censorship does not sound like the voice of a 'wet minded liberal to me', more a reactionary right-wing conservative!

Seriously, though, death is part of life and also forms part of many mainstream entertainments, whether it's literature, theatre, opera, ballet , movies, television, etc.. If stories on this board are to reflect life in some way, they must also, when narrative progression necessitates, sometimes include the theme of death.

I have a distaste for describing cruel killings just for the sake of sexual gratification but , if the overall storyline dictates, I won't hesitate to include such desciptions, usually to put the dangers faced or historical times lived by various heroes into perspective. After all, nasty ends did and do sadly happen.

I saw the possibility that even raising this issue would lead to me being categorised and I wrote "wet liberal". Why? Because I think the personal security and freedom and liberty of us ALL outweighs the "kick" value of anything so extreme, even in our fiction area.

I am no reactionary just someone not wanting this club misrepresenting its spirit, tolerance, diversity and usefulness by the inclusion of hateful thought, unless that item is used to

describe historical fact. There is enough murder across the planet

without imagining "sexy" murder. No way, do I agree with that, personally and it is in a personal capacity that I am raising this.

Lets not provide ammunition to those who do not understand or dislike this site. I know I sound pompous and "goody toe-shoes",

I just want this site to be available globally.

I wouldn't get too worried about it.

Just remember, the ballet isn't over until the swan takes it in the ass.

I do not believe in censorship. I dont think we should attack this man who asked a question, and should be respected for it. Calling anyone a name for voicing there opinion is the same has censoring ideas, and that is a crime. The fore fathers of this nation gave us a right to write, and speak our minds. We need to listen to ideas and then answer in away that will allow the person to feel at ease even voicing an opinion that most do not agree with. Sac mec I was not offended by your question. You censor the thing you dont want to read, and that should be could enough.🔫🔫 🙃 🔫 🔫 😲 :shot191:
