I'll miss Carridine for imprinting Kung Fu in my memory.

I'll miss Farah for her unforgettable role in Logan's Run.

I will miss ED McMahon for sticking with Johnny Carson.

I'll miss the singer that starred in "Thriller" but not the pedophile he became later.

Celebrities are all rubbish. Never liked either Fawcett or Jackson. Wished I'd never heard of either.

Michael Jackson was only a few weeks younger than me. I usually loved his music. But there was a time that I felt that he had gotten to much into an ego trip and so long.

No, no. Don't limit yourself. Not just his greatest hits, but his not-so-greatest, his worst, the stuff that wasn't even good enough to be released when he as alive, the accidentally-recorded conversations that took place in the studio, the aimless musical wandering, half-finished and abandoned tunes, and so on, and so on.

Look what they've done to The Beatles. ("Coming soon! The sounds of the boys having lunch in the studio! This lost treasure....") They'll easily try to milk Michael Jackson's legacy for as much.

Interestingly, a few years age I'm sure I read an article in some American publication (and I can't now remember which it was) suggesting that Michael HAD had his balls removed. This of course may have been entire conjecture!

Does this ring bells with anyone else?

That said, and the poor fellow's other difficulties aside - (his lost childhood and its effects on his adult life together with the constraints in which he then felt compelled to live) he was hugely talented and will be greatly missed by a lot of people - and no, I wasn't a fan of his!

Why does society care about this at all?

At least Farrah Fawcett was trying to do something by shining a light on how horrible cancer is. Michael Jackson remained an attention whore to the end, seemingly enough that when he died, it blew Farrah right of the front page.

still, people die. Get used to it!

Why the news needed to spend 20 of their 30 minutes on this stupidity last night is beyond me. It's not like the North Koreans aren't stirring things and Iran isn't about ready to implode, or anything.

Nope, we have to hear about Michael Jackson. Here's a hint for the news people, tell us he's dead, and then go back to telling us what happens in the rest of the world.

Oh wait, they don't even do that. All we get on US news is this kind of crap, 20 minutes daily of telling us about the latest Brittney Spears snatch sighting or some dead celebrity.... no wonder I pay more attention to foreign news outlets these days.

MJ broke a number of barriers and did much good in the world! However, that is not to say he was perfect. No human is perfect and I am sure if the press followed you around 24/7 the world would quickly see your dirty laundry!
