Larger neck circumferances , generally on the clinically obese tend lead to sleep apnea.

Testosterone is a nocturnal respiratory suppressant, and can cause the respiratory muscles to relax while sleeping, hence! This will cause snoring. And even worse if over weight. One the other side of things, progesterone is a respiratory stimulant, this is why very few women snore before menopause. I have sleep apnea, while chemically castrated it stopped. I am thin and don't snore much. but I do stop breathing during sleep.
